Investigation and analysis on current status and satisfaction of standardized residency training

Abstract:Objective To investigate the current status and satisfaction among residents undergoing standardized training,revealing problems and improving qualities.Methods Using a self-designed questionnaire,a survey was conducted among residents,including medical graduate students,in Peking Uniersity Health Science Center affiliated hospitals and teaching hospitals in July 2022.The satisfaction rates and affecting factors were analyzed.Results Among 951 responders,the top 3 items were as follows:the assessments were strict and normative,scored(4.23±0.83)points;the faculty was highly qualified,scored(4.23±0.87)points;and the instruction was proper,scored(4.18±0.87)points.The overall satisfaction rate was 93.8%,scored(4.02±0.96)points.Three items with lowest satisfaction rates were salary at 67.1%,well-being at 75.1%and training intensity at 89.4%.There were significant differences in overall satisfaction among different identities,marital status and specialties.The satisfaction about curriculum,managements and intensities of training,and the consistency rate of"scientific and rigorous management"were influencing factors of the overall satisfaction rate.Conclusion The current status is highly recognized by residents,and the overall satisfaction rate is high,except for the training intensity and well-being,which needs to be improved.
