Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of mind mapping based on Murtagh safety diagnosis strategy in teaching case discussion of standardized general practice residency training. Methods A total of 62 residents who received standardized training in General Practice Department of the General Hospital of Western Theater Command between March 2019 to February 2020 were selected. The control group included 28 residents who were trained under the traditional teaching approach, and the experimental group included 34 residents who were instructed under the mind mapping based on Murtagh safety diagnosis strategy.Questionnaire and Mini-CEX combined with case analysis examination were used to compare the teaching satisfaction and the clinical competence. Results The teaching satisfaction scores in learning interest, classroom atmosphere, knowledge application, teaching methods and overall satisfaction except the case selection of the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05);The Mini-CEX scores in medical interviews, communication skills, clinical judgment, humanistic care, organizational effectiveness, and overall performance of the experimental group, except physical examination, were significantly higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05);The case analysis score of the experimental group[(81.2±5.7)points vs(74.4±6.3)points]and the clinical competence score[(81.6±3.1)points vs(73.6±3.7)points]were also significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of mind mapping based on Murtagh safety diagnosis strategy in teaching case discussion of standardized general practice residency training can significantly improve the residents'teaching satisfaction and clinical competence, and it is worth to be adopted.
