Application of the rank-sum ratio method to comprehensively evaluate the results of the end-of-course assessment of clinical practice competence of residents in Zhejiang Province

Abstract:Objective To comprehensively evaluate the results of the end-of-course assessment of clinical practice ability of standardized training of resident physicians in Zhejiang Province,and propose countermeasures and suggestions to provide a reference basis for the subsequent improvement of residency training and assessment.Methods Data were obtained from the Zhejiang Province medical education information service platform,and the results of the clinical practice competence assessment of 21 specialties were comprehensively evaluated by the rank-and-ratio method,and sorted to adjudicate the parity.Results The assessment results were divided into four grades:excellent,good,moderate and poor.Results of nuclear medicine and neurosurgery were excellent.For otolaryngology,radiation oncology,ultrasonography,anesthesiology,pediatrics,dermatology,neurology,pediatric surgery and orthopaedics,results were good.For emergency medicine,rehabilitation medicine,general medicine,stomatology,internal medicine,surgery,ophthalmology,obstetrics and gynecology and radiology,results were moderate.The result of psychiatry was poor.Conclusion Using the rank-sum ratio method to comprehensively evaluate the clinical practice ability assessment of various disciplines in Zhejiang Province has both theoretical and practical advantages,which is conducive to identifying problems in residency training and assessment and improving them in a timely manner,so as to promote the quality of residency training.
