Application of a combined lecture-based learning and workshop teaching model in the training of standardized key teachers in otorhinolaryngology department

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of lecture-based learning combined with workshops in the training of standardized backbone teachers in otolaryngology department.Methods A total of 41 students who participated in the 2021 Resident Companion backbone teacher training course of the Department of Otolaryngology in Guangdong Province were selected as the research subjects.The self-controlled study method was used.Two teaching contents of standardized teaching rounds and Mini-CEX were designed,and the teaching method of lecture-based learning combined with workshops was implemented.At the end of the course,a questionnaire was issued on the course content and satisfaction with the teaching.Results Through the form of lecture-based learning combined with workshops,students could master the content and skills of teaching rounds and clinical exercise evaluation.Students'satisfaction with the new teaching model was good and their interest was high.Conclusion In the training course of resident backbone teachers in otorhinolaryngology department,the lecture-based learning and workshop teaching model can achieve better teaching effect.
