Abstract:Objective To explore the technical factors leading to failure in digital slide scanning and the corresponding corrective measures, and to summarize a protocol that can improve the success rate of digital slide scanning. Methods Breast histopathological sections stored at the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University were collected, and a supervised scanning process was developed. The quality of digitally scanned images was compared between the supervised group and the unsupervised group. Causes of不合格 samples were analyzed, and secondary scanning corrections were performed. Results The qualified rate of digital slides in the supervised group was significantly higher than that in the unsupervised group (P<0.05). Implementing quality control effectively resolved various quality issues in digital scanning images. Conclusion Conducting quality control according to standards before digital slide scanning is beneficial for improving the success rate and work efficiency of digital slide scanning, and provides strong support for the full digital pathology workflow.
