Abstract:Objective To investigate the expressions of programmed death ligand 1(PD-L1)and astrocyte elevated gene-1(AEG-1)in gastric cancer tissues with Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection, and to analyze their relationships with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods A total of 93 patients with Hp-infected gastric cancer who underwent surgical treatment in Tianmen First People's Hospital from January 2020 to June 2022 were enrolled.Cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were collected, and after specimen preparation, immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression levels of PD-L1 and AEG-1.The expression levels of PD-L1 and AEG-1 in cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were compared, and the expressions of PD-L1 and AEG-1 in cancer tissues of patients with different clinicopathological features and prognoses were analyzed. Results The positive rate of PD-L1 in cancer tissues was 63.44%,which was higher than 11.83%in adjacent tissues;the positive rate of AEG-1 in cancer tissues was 76.34%,which was higher than 17.20%in adjacent tissues(P<0.05).The positive expression rates of PD-L1 and AEG-1 in patients with high-stage gastric cancer, poor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, and invasion depth reaching the muscular layer/serosa were higher than those in patients with low-stage,well-differentiated,no lymph node metastasis, and invasion depth limited to the mucosal layer/submucosal layer(P<0.05).The 3-year survival rate of PD-L1-positive patients was 67.80%,which was lower than 88.24%of PD-L1-negative patients;the 3-year survival rate of AEG-1-positive patients was 70.00%,which was lower than 91.30%of AEG-1-negative patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression levels of PD-L1 and AEG-1 in cancer tissues of patients with Hp-infected gastric cancer are relatively high, and they are correlated with tumor clinical stage, differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis, invasion depth, and prognosis.
