Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between the expression levels of histone deacetylase 1(HDAC1)and fibroblast growth factor receptor substrate 2(FRS2)in cervical cancer tissues and patients'pathological characteristics and prognosis. Methods A total of 106 cases with cervical cancer from January 2020 to April 2022 were selected.Cancer tissue and adjacent tissue specimens were collected and divided into the cervical cancer group and the adjacent tissue group, respectively. The expression of HDAC1 and FRS2 was detected by immunohistochemistry. The expression of HDAC1 and FRS2 in patients with different clinicopathological characteristics was compared, and the risk factors affecting the prognosis of cervical cancer cases were explored by multivariate Cox regression analysis. Results Compared with the adjacent tissue group, the positive expression rates of HDAC1 and FRS2 in the cervical cancer group were increased(P<0.05).Compared with patients with FIGO stage I-IIA,no lymph node metastasis, cervical interstitial infiltration<1/2,and moderate to high differentiation, patients with FIGO stage IIB-III,lymph node metastasis, cervical interstitial infiltration≥1/2,and low differentiation had higher positive expression rates of HDAC1 and FRS2(P<0.05).The 3-year overall survival rate of patients with negative HDAC1 expression and that of patients with negative FRS2 expression were respectively higher than those of patients with positive HDAC1 and FRS2 expression(P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that FIGO stage IIB-III(HR=1.876,95%CI:1.048-3.357),lymph node metastasis(HR=2.079,95%CI:1.279-3.381),low differentiation(HR=2.641,95%CI:1.319-5.285),positive HDAC1 expression(HR=2.809,95%CI:1.588-4.970),and positive FRS2 expression(HR=3.077,95%CI:1.831-5.173)were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of cervical cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion HDAC1 and FRS2 are positively expressed in most cervical cancers.Abnormally high expression of both markers is closely related to advanced FIGO stage, lymph node metastasis, and poor prognosis. They are expected to be effective markers for early risk assessment of cervical cancer.
