Abstract:Soft tissue sarcomas are a group of malignant mesenchymal tumors with high metastatic and mortality rates. The incidence of soft tissue sarcomas is low, and diagnosis is difficult; incorrect and delayed diagnosis significantly affects patient treatment. Artificial intelligence has been widely applied in the pathology field of epithelial tumors, but research in the pathology of soft tissue sarcomas is limited. This article aims to outline the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of soft tissue sarcomas and summarize the research on artificial intelligence in the pathology of soft tissue sarcomas from five aspects: pathological element recognition, pathological diagnosis, prediction of molecular changes, assessment of treatment response, and prognosis prediction.
