Abstract:By introducing the concepts of digital pathology and artificial intelligence (AI), this paper reviews the development history of AI in cervical cytology, and analyzes and prospects the application of AI in cervical cytology screening based on the latest literature. The application of AI can significantly improve the sensitivity and specificity of cervical cytology screening, standardize diagnosis, accelerate the review speed, and promote remote screening; however, its ability to detect rare or ambiguous lesions is limited, and prospective validation is insufficient. In the future, issues such as data homogeneity, data privacy, and ethical problems still need to be addressed to ensure safe clinical practice.
