Abstract:Objective To discuss the clinical pathological features, immunophenotype, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of thymic carcinoma combined with papillary carcinoma within the thyroid. Methods A case of thymic carcinoma combined with papillary carcinoma within the thyroid was reviewed, and the clinical pathological features, imaging characteristics, histological morphology, immunohistochemical expression, treatment and prognosis were analyzed in combination with the literature. Results Thymic carcinoma combined with papillary carcinoma within the thyroid. Immunohistochemical results: Thymic carcinoma showed positive staining for CD5, CD117, P40, and negative for CD56, CgA, Syn, TTF-1, TG, and EBER. Papillary thyroid carcinoma showed positive staining for CK19 and Galectin-3, and negative for CD56. Conclusion Thymic carcinoma within the thyroid is rare, and the combination with papillary carcinoma is even rarer.
