Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of serum tumor-related biomarkers and prognosis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer based on Cox regression analysis. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 187 patients with non-small cell lung cancer admitted to Jinjiang Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022.The patients were grouped according to their prognosis during a 2-year follow-up period.Patients with a survival time of≤2 years were included in group A(n=71),and patients with a survival time of>2 years were enrolled as group B(n=116).The general clinical data and the expression levels of serum tumor-related biomarkers[carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),cytokeratin 19 fragment antigen21-1(CYFRA21-1),and squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC)]were compared between the two groups.Cox regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer. Results In this study, there were significant differences in tumor differentiation, tumor diameter, tumor stage, and presence of lymph node metastasis between group A and group B(P<0.05),and the serum levels of CEA,CYFRA21-1,and SCC in group A were significantly higher than those in group B(P<0.05).These factors were identified as univariate factors for poor prognosis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer.Cox regression analysis showed that poor tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, tumor T3+T4 stage, and elevated levels of CEA,CYFRA21-1,and SCC were independent risk factors for poor prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum tumor biomarkers are highly expressed in non-small cell lung cancer patients with poor prognosis, and their levels are related to the prognosis of patients. In the future, these biomarkers are expected to be used to evaluate the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer, providing guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
