Abstract:Objective To investigate standardized dissecting protocols and quality management strategies for suspected hydatidiform mole specimens in the department of pathology, thereby establishing a robust foundation for the diagnosis and research of gestational trophoblastic diseases. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 7 cases of pathologically diagnosed as suspected hydatidiform mole at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from January 2024 and January 2025.Clinical parameters including patient age, obstetric history, hormonal profiles, and ultrasonographic findings were systematically collected.Standardized dissecting of abortion tissues was implemented, with short tandem repeat(STR)genotyping applied to both villous and decidual tissues for comprehensive sample quality assessment. Results STR genotyping demonstrated significant utility in quality control of suspected hydatidiform mole specimens, effectively distinguishing maternal contamination and identifying sample degradation. The integration of molecular pathological profiles and clinical meta data provided a high-fidelity data framework to support subsequent advanced clinical investigations. Conclusion The multidimensional quality management system combining clinical, histopathological, and genetic perspectives for standardized sampling of suspected hydatidiform mole specimens is essential for advancing the research on gestational trophoblastic diseases.
