Abstract:Objective To optimize the pre-frozen section steps and improve the operational details during the sectioning process in order to enhance the quality of frozen sections. Methods During the period from March 2023 to March 2025, the Department of Pathology at Tsinghua Hospital, affiliated with Tsinghua University, processed common intraoperative frozen specimens using methods such as electrostatic elimination, step-by-step embedding for small tissues, manual OCT embedding agent filling for lung tissue, and U-shaped or O-shaped embedding for thin-walled cyst-like tissues, aiming to improve the quality of frozen sections. Results Through the corresponding processing and improvements, the quality of frozen sections was effectively enhanced. Conclusion By optimizing the pre-frozen section steps and improving the operational details during the sectioning process, the quality of frozen sections can be effectively improved. Compared with the situation before the improvement, the difference was statistically significant.
