Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features, immunophenotypes, diagnosis, and prognosis of ovarian seromucinous carcinoma complicated with borderline seromucinous tumor. Methods Clinical data of 3 cases of ovarian seromucinous carcinoma complicated with borderline seromucinous tumor were collected. The expressions of ER,PR,p53,CK7,WT-1,vimentin,PAX8 and p16 was detected by immunohistochemical EnVision method.Their clinicopathological features were analyzed, and relevant literature was reviewed. Results The patients were 59,51,and 42 years old, respectively. The tumor sizes were 6 cm,12 cm,and 13 cm,respectively. One case presented as a cystic mass, and two cases as cystic-solid masses.Among them, one patient was postmenopausal. All three cases involved unilateral ovarian lesions, and two cases were accompanied by endometriosis.According to FIGO staging,2 cases were at stage Ⅰ and 1 case at stage Ⅲ.Immunophenotypically,ER,PR,CK7 and PAX8 were all positive,p16 and vimentin were partially positive,CK20 and WT-1 were both negative, and p53 showed wild-type expression. All three cases were confirmed as ovarian seromucinous carcinoma combined with borderline seromucinous tumors. Conclusion Ovarian seromucinous carcinoma complicated with borderline seromucinous tumor is rare, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by adequate sampling combined with histopathological and immunophenotypic findings.
