Abstract:Objective To summarize the clinical and pathological characteristics, differential diagnosis, and prognosis of primary leiomyosarcoma of the spleen, in order to enhance understanding of this disease. Methods A case of a middle-aged male with multiple splenic masses was reported, and the pathological diagnosis was primary splenic leiomyosarcoma. At the same time, relevant literature was retrieved and the clinical and pathological features of this disease were summarized. Results Primary splenic tumors are rare, and leiomyosarcoma is even rarer. Conclusion The spleen is a rare site for leiomyosarcoma, and pathological examination is the gold standard for definitive diagnosis.
