Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical pathological characteristics, molecular features, differential diagnosis, and recent classification progress of nasal and sinus glomuopericytoma (SNGPC). Methods By reporting a case of nasal neoplasm in a 61-year-old male patient, combined with histopathological examination, immunohistochemistry, and literature data, we analyzed the diagnostic points and classification controversies of SNGPC. Results In this case, the typical 'antler-like vascular' structure was not obvious, but the diagnosis of SNGPC was still supported by immunohistochemical results. Conclusion The diagnosis of SNGPC can be challenging when typical features are not evident, and it is necessary to combine immunohistochemistry to reduce the risk of misdiagnosis. Currently, WHO classification categorizes SNGPC as a subtype of myopericytoma, but its unique molecular features and clinical manifestations suggest that it may be an independent tumor. Further research is needed to explore the relationship between its molecular mechanisms and classification.
