Expression of OR51E2 in prostate cancer and their clinical significance

Abstract：Objective To study the expression of OR51E2 in prostate cancer(PCa)and its relationship with clinicopathologic parameters in patients.Methods The GEPIA2 database was used to predict the expression of OR51E2 in PCa tissues and normal prostate tissues,and the relationship between its expression level and patient survival.We collected PCa tissue and normal prostate tissue samples from 92 PCa patients at the First People's Hospital of Nantong between January 2022 and December 2023,and detected the expression of OR51E2 in the above tissue samples by immunohistochemistry,and also investigated relationship with the clinicopathological parameters.Results GEPIA2 database showed that the expression level of OR51E2 in PCa tissues was significantly higher than that in normal prostate tissues(P<0.05),and the above significant difference was also confirmed immunohistochemical testing of clinical samples the survival rate of patients in the group with high expression of OR51E2 was significantly higher than that of patients in the group with low expression(P<0.05)the expression level of OR51E2 in PCa tissues was closely correlated with Gleason score and serum PSA value(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression level of OR51E2 in PCa tissues is significantly higher than that in normal prostate tissues.Moreover,the survival rate of patients in the group with high OR51E2 expression is notably higher than that of patients in the group with low OR51E2 expression.The expression level of OR51E2 has the potential to serve as a novel molecular marker for evaluating the differentiation status and prognosis of tumors.
