Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of interleukin 4-inducible protein 1(IL4I1)in the prognosis of thyroid cancer(TC)and to analyse the relationship between IL4I1 expression and clinicopathological features of TC.Methods A total of 300 TC patients admitted to Nanxiang Hospital of Jiading District and Shanghai Mengchao Cancer Hospital(from June 2020 to June 2023)were selected. The cancer tissue and adjacent tissue samples(biopsy or surgery)were taken from the patients, and the expression of IL4I1 protein was detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship between IL4I1 expression and the clinicopathological features of TC was analyzed.Kaplan-Meier survival curve and Cox regression model were used to analyze the prognostic factors of IL4I1 and TC.Results The high expression rate of IL4I1 in TC tissues was higher than that in paracancerous tissues(P<0.05).The proportion of stage III-IV and lymph node metastases in patients with high IL4I1 expression was higher than that in patients with low L4I1 expression(P<0.05).Upon follow-up,the cumulative progression-free survival rate was 87.33%in patients with high IL4I1 expression and 96.20%in patients with low expression, and the difference between the progression-free survival of patients with high and low IL4I1 expression was statistically significant(Log rank 2=5.033,P=0.025).Cox regression analysis showed that TC stage III-IV and high expression of IL4I1 were risk factors for TC recurrence and metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusion IL4I1 expression is abnormally high in TC tissues, and it was correlated with clinical stage, lymph node metastasis in patients with TC,and patients with high IL4I1 expression have a worse prognosis.
