Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of secreted frizzled related protein 4(SFRP4)and homeobox gene B9(HOXB9)in bladder cancer(BCa)and their relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods From January 2018 to June 2019,158 patients with BCa admitted to our hospital were selected, and their BCa tissues and adjacent tissues were collected during surgery. The mRNA and protein expression of SFRP4 and HOXB9 in tissues were detected. The relationship between SFRP4,HOXB9 and the prognosis of BCa patients was analyzed. The factors affecting the prognosis of BCa patients were analyzed. Results Compared with adjacent cancer tissues, the expression level of SFRP4 decreased and the expression level of HOXB9 increased in BCa tissues(P<0.05).The patients with positive expression of SFRP4 in BCa tissue had a higher 5-year survival rate(P<0.05),while patients with negative expression of HOXB9 in BCa tissue had a higher 5-year survival rate(P<0.05).In the good prognosis group, the proportion of lymph node metastasis, tumor size>3.0 cm,TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,low differentiation,SFRP4 negative expression, and HOXB9 positive expression was lower than that in the poor prognosis group(P<0.05).Lymph node metastasis,TNM stage III-IV,SFRP4 negative expression, and HOXB9 positive expression were risk factors affecting the prognosis of BCa patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression level of SFRP4 decreases and the expression level of HOXB9 increases in BCa tissue. Both of them are associated with clinicopathological features and prognosis.
