Discussion on the value of quality control system for whole process of liquid based cytology technology

Abstract：Objective To explore the application value of the full process quality control system in liquid-based cytology technology. Methods A full process quality control system for liquid-based cytology technology was established, and the excellent rate of liquid-based smear preparation, re-preparation rate, and reasons for re-preparation were compared before and after the implementation of the full process quality control system in a tertiary hospital's pathology department in Nanning. Results After implementing the full process quality control system, the excellent rate of smear preparation increased from 96.76% to 99.39%, and the re-preparation rate decreased from 1.07% to 0.12%. Conclusion The full process quality control system can effectively improve the quality of smear preparation and reduce the re-preparation rate, providing quality assurance for the standardization of liquid-based cytology technology and artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis.
