Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical and pathological characteristics of breast implant-associated squamous cell carcinoma, helping clinical workers improve their understanding and differential diagnosis of this type of disease. Methods We collected and analyzed 14 cases of breast implant-related squamous cell carcinoma at home and abroad, compared and analyzed their clinical features, histopathological characteristics, and immunohistochemical features, and reviewed related literature. Results All cases of breast implant-associated squamous cell carcinoma were located between the implant capsule and pectoralis major muscle, most of them were accompanied by contracture and pain, with poor prognosis. Histopathologically, they were mainly moderately to highly differentiated. Conclusion Characteristic clinical symptoms and signs can help clinicians improve their understanding of this disease. Imaging is a good diagnostic basis. Pathologists should pay attention to distinguishing this disease from conditions such as pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia, which has important clinical significance in preventing missed or misdiagnosis.
