Abstract:Objective To introduce the clinical characteristics of predominant cystic clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and to explore its clinical and pathological features, immunohistochemical phenotype, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and prognosis. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data, histological characteristics, and immunohistochemical Results of 4 cases of cystic clear cell renal cell carcinoma, combined with review of the literature. Results Under the microscope, the tumor tissue had clear boundaries and appeared multilocular cystic. The cyst wall was lined with transparent cells, and the nuclei were round or oval in shape, with no evidence of mitosis.Localized solid nodules were visible.Immunohistochemistry showed that AE1/AE3 was positive(4/4),Vimentin positive(4/4),CAIX positive(4/4),CD10 positive(2/4),CK7 positive(4/4),Pax8 positive(4/4),CD117 positive(0/4),TFE3 positi-ve(0/4),and Ki-67 index 2%~5%.Conclusion Cystic clear cell renal cell carcinoma is a special type of clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and the key to diagnosis lies in the histological presentation.Currently,it is recommended to undergo tumor resection with preserved nephrons for treatment, which has a good prognosis.
