Abstract:Objective To explore the imaging features and clinical pathological characteristics of extrahepatic biliary granular cell tumors (GCT). Methods A case of GCT occurring in the gallbladder was collected, and its pathological features and immunophenotype were observed. Relevant literature was reviewed. Results The patient was a 35-year-old female. Imaging suggested a possible gallbladder polyp (broad base). Under the microscope, the tumor cells showed infiltrative growth, composed of large polygonal or oval cells with abundant eosinophilic granular cytoplasm and small, centrally located round to oval nuclei. Immunophenotype: S-100, SOX-10, TFE3, CD68, calretinin, Inhibin-α were positive, Ki-67 was approximately 1%. Special staining: AB-PAS was positive. Conclusion GCT of the extrahepatic bile ducts, especially the gallbladder, is rare. The imaging findings are non-specific and prone to misdiagnosis. The definitive diagnosis mainly relies on histopathological examination. In clinical practice, it is necessary to broaden thinking and consider such rare tumors to avoid missed or incorrect diagnoses.
