Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of transmembrane and immunoglobulin domain 2(TMIGD2)and DEP domain-containing protein 1B(DEPDC1B)in esophageal cancer(EC)tissue. Methods 100 EC patients admitted to Hebei General Hospital of Veterans General Hospital from January 2018 to April 2020 were selected, and cancer tissue and adjacent tissues were collected during radical resection. After 3 years of follow-up,the patients were divided into survival group(62 cases)and death group(38 cases).Immunohistochemical methods were applied to detect the expression of TMIGD2 and DEPDC1B in tissue and to analyze the relationship between DEPDC1B and DEPDC1B levels and the prognosis of EC patients as well as the factors affecting the prognosis of EC patients. Results Compared with adjacent tissues, the positivity expression rate of TMIGD2 and DEPDC1B in EC cancer tissues were obviously increased(P<0.05);the positive expression rates of TMIGD2 and DEPDC1B in EC patients with TNM staging of stage Ⅲ,lymph node metastasis, and low differentiation were higher(P<0.05).There were significant differences in tumor diameter,TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, depth of invasion, degree of differentiation and pathological type between survival group and death group(all P<0.05).The 3-year overall survival rates of patients with positive expression of TMIGD2 and DEPDC1B were 53.85%(35/65)and 54.93%(39/71),respectively,which were obviously lower than those of patients with negative expression of 77.14%(27/35)and 79.31%(23/29)(all P<0.05);multivariate COX regression analysis showed that a tumor diameter of≥3 cm,invasion reaching depth the muscular layer, lymph node metastasis, adenocarcinoma as the pathological type,TNM stage III,poor histological differentiation, positive expression of DEPDC1B and TMIGD2 were all risk factors affecting the prognosis of EC patients. Conclusion The expression levels of TMIGD2 and DEPDC1B in cancer tissues of EC patients are obviously elevated, which are closely related to prognosis.
