Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of chemokines CXCL12 and CXCL14 in colorectal cancer tissues and the pathological classification, histologic classification as well as prognosis. Methods A total of 302 colorectal cancer patients in our hospital from August 2019 to August 2021 were selected and their intraoperative cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were collected.Western blot technology and immunohistochemistry were used to analyze the expression differences of CXCL12 and CXCL14 in colorectal cancer and adjacent tissues, and the correlation between CXCL12 and CXCL14 protein expression and prognosis and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed. Results High expression of CXCL12 and low expression of CXCL14 were significantly associated with pathological classification, tumor differentiation,TNM stage, vascular invasion and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Patients with positive expression of CXCL12 and negative expression of CXCL14 had a poor prognosis(P<0.05).Univariate analysis showed that CXCL12 and CXCL14 were valuable prognostic factors for colorectal cancer(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis further confirmed that CXCL12 positive expression and CXCL14 negative expression are independent prognostic factors for colorectal cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion High expression of CXCL12 and low expression of CXCL14 in colorectal cancer tissues are associated with poor prognosis of colorectal cancer, and may be potential molecular targets for targeted therapy for colorectal cancer.
