Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features of the struma in oviduct. Methods Clinicopathological data of struma in oviduct were collected and analyzed by HE staining and immunohistochemistry. Results The patient was a 74-year-old woman. At the junction of the ampulla and the infundibular part, the texture was slightly hard, and there was a wall attachment nodule in the lumen, with a diameter of about 0.9 cm.Under the microscope,a tuberous tumor with clear boundary was seen. The tumor consisted of thyroid follicles of different sizes, and eosinophilic glia were seen in the follicular cavity. At high magnification, cubic epithelial cells were lined in the follicular wall, and no overlapping nuclei,ground-glass nuclei, nuclear trenches,or internal inclusion bodies were observed. The cells showed no atypia and expressed TG.Ectopic hilar cells were found in the submucosa of fallopian tube and expressed inhibin and AR.Conclusion Struma in oviduct is rare, which is difficult to identify and easy to be misdiagnosed. It should be differentiated from ectopic thyroid and metastatic thyroid tumors.Imaging, histomorphology and immunohistochemistry are helpful for the diagnosis.Surgical resection is the main treatment, and the prognosis is good.
