Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of FNAC(fine needle aspiration cytology)combined with multi-gene testing in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules. Methods A tatal of 204 patients with thyroid nodules who met the inclusion criteria were selected. All patients underwent preoperative FNAC examination and multi-gene testing(7 gene loci including BRAF,KRAS,HRAS,NRAS,TERT,NTRK,RET/PTC).Postoperative pathological sections were used as the"gold standard"to analyze the value of FNAC combined with multi-gene testing in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules. The postoperative pathology showed that the combination of FNAC and multi-gene detection had a strong consistency with the pathological findings. Results Compared with FNAC and multi-gene mutation detection alone, the sensitivity of the combined diagnosis was higher,at 97.54%with a Kappa value of 0.907,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The accuracy of the combined detection was 95.59%,which was higher than that of FNAC and multi-gene mutation detection alone, and the difference was statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Therefore, the combination of FNAC and multi-gene testing can significantly improve the accuracy and sensitivity of thyroid nodule diagnosis.
