Abstract:Objective To aimed to examine the expression of PAK5 in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues as well as its association with clinicopathological features. Methods The expression of PAK5 expression,CA125,ER,PR,and Ki-67 in ovarian cancer tissues was assessed using immunohistochemistry and scored accordingly. The correlation between PAK5 and FIGO stage, tumor size, age, and lymphatic metastasis in epithelial ovarian cancer was analyzed through statistical analysis using SPSS.Results The findings revealed the levels of PAK5 expression in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues was higher than that in tumor adjacent tissues.A positive correlation between elevated PAK5 expression and greater tumor size, lymphatic metastasis, advanced FIGO stage,as well as poorer overall survival was observed(P<0.05);likewise,PAK5 was found to be positively associated with CA125 and Ki-67,and negatively associated with ER(P<0.05).Conclusion PAK5 is overexpressed in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues. The expression of PAK5 is positively correlated with advanced FIGO stage and worse overall survival.Taken together, these findings may shed light on PAK5 as a therapeutic target for ovarian cancer tissues.
