Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of ultrasound-guided thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology(US-FNAC)in the diagnosis of myeloid thyroid carcinoma(MTC)and the clinical significance of combined detection with serum calcitonin(sCT).Methods Preoperative fine needle aspiration cytology(FNAC)and sCT test result of 42 patients with suspected MTC were collected, and their result were compared and analyzed with postoperative histopathological diagnosis. Results 1)The sample satisfaction rate for 42 preoperative FNACs was 92.9%(39/42).(2)The sensitivity(97.4%vs 76.3%)and accuracy(90.5%vs 71.4%)of the combined test of FNAC and sCT for the diagnosis of MTC were significantly higher than that of FNAC alone, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined detection of FNAC and sCT can improve the accuracy of preoperative diagnosis of MTC,and has guiding significance for the standardized diagnosis and treatment of patients.
