The expression and clinical pathological significance of CD24 and CD164 in high grade serous ovarian carcinoma

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological significance of CD24 and CD164 expression in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma(HGSOC).Methods A total of 73 patients diagnosed with HGSOC from January 2018 to June 2022 were enrolled in our study.The expression of CD24 and CD164 was detected by immunohistochemistry,and their expression and impact on chemotherapy response were analyzed.Results The positive rates of CD24 and CD164 in HGSOC were 63.01%(46/73)and 67.12%(49/73).The expression difference of CD24 is statistically significant among different FIGO stages and lymph node metastasis statuses(P<0.05),while the expression difference of CD164 is only statistically significant among different FIGO stages(P<0.05).The expression differences of both in other clinical pathological features are not statistically significant(P>0.05).The co-expression of CD24 and CD164 showed a higher positive expression rate in the chemoresistant group of HGSOC(P<0.05).And there was a positive relationship in the expression of CD24 and CD164 in HGSOC(r=0.491,P<0.05).Kaplan-Meier survival analysis revealed that patients with positive expression of CD24 and CD164 had significantly lower 3-year survival rate(P<0.05).Besides,patients with positive expression of CD24 had statistically lower 1-year survival rate(P<0.05),while it was not significant about CD164(P>0.05).Conclusion CD24 and CD164 may play a role in promoting the development of HGSOC.The co-expression of them suggests the possibility of chemoresistance.Detection of CD24 and CD164 expression plays a crucial role in prognostic evaluation,pathological diagnosis and clinical treatment of HGSOC.
