Secretory meningioma:clinicopathological analysis and literature review

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features of secretory meningioma(SM).Methods The clinical and pathological features were observed and related literatures were reviewed.Results In the study,the majority of SM patients were women(7/11),with the lesions most commonly occurring on the convex surface of the brain(45.5%).Under the microscope,the characteristic eosinophilic secretions were found in all the cases,PAS staining was positive.The tumor cells were positive for Vimentin,CEA,PR,AE1/AE3(6/6),SSTR 2(4/4);EMA(10/11),S-100(1/10),the expression rate of Ki-67 value-added index was<1%-4%.All the 11 cases were diagnosed as SM,WHO grade 1.6 had KLF4(K409Q)mutation,and I had TRAF7(G536S)mutation.9 patients were followed up for 5-55 months,and no recurrence or metastasis was found.Conclusion SM presents with unique pathological morphological features,and has a good prognosis.
