Abstract:Objective To explore the clinicopathological features, immunotypes, differential diagnosis and treatment. Methods Four cases of atypical placental site nodule(APSN)were examined with HE staining and immunohistochemical staining. The relevant literatures were ureviewed. Results All 4 cases were located within uterine cavity.Histopathologically, the lesions presented with multiple well-circumscribed nodules.Intranoudular lesional cells were predominantly epithelioid in diffuse distribution and embedded within a rich hyalinized stroma. The lesional cells were large with abundant cytoplasm and round or irregular atypical nucleiand mitotic figures.Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for CK,CK5/6,p40,and GATA3,the prolifertating index of Ki-67 ranged from 8%to 12%.Conclusion Atypical placental site nodule of the uterus is a rare chorionic type tumor-like lesion, which is easily misdiagnosed as placental site trophoblastic tumor, epithelioid trophoblastic tumor, squamous cell carcinoma, epithelioid smooth tumor, and placental site nodule. The definite diagnosis may depend on histology and immunohistochemical makers.
