Abstract:Objective To investigate the meaning of abnormal HER-2 expression and/or mutaion in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Methods We analyzed the histopathology, immunohistochemitry, fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)and gene detection(amplification block mutation system ARMS method)in 183 patientswith NSCLC in Donge County People's Hospital. Results There was a statistically significant correlation between HER-2 gene mutation and the age(<55 years old)(P<0.001),but no statistically significant correlation between HER-2 gene mutation and other clinicopathologic features. There was no significant correlation between HER-2 protein expression, gene amplification and clinicopathological features. There was also no significant correlation between HER-2 protein expression and gene amplification status and non-small cell lung cancer 9 gene(EGFR,ALK,KRAS,HER-2,PIK3CA,RET,BRAF,NRAS,ROS1)mutation.Conclusion HER-2 point mutation is correlated with the age of NSCLC patients, but not with other clinicopathologic features. The meaning of HER-2 abnormal status needs more studies.
