Clinicopathological features of breast cancer metastasis to the stomach : a case report and review of literatures

Abstract：Objective To analyze the clinical and pathological features of distant metastasis of breast cancer metastasis to the stomach.Methods The clinical data were analyzed in one case of breast cancer metastasis to the stomach.Histopathological and immunohistochemical changes of the tumor were also observed in the paraffin-embedded tissue samples.Results The patient was a 48 years old woman.The tumor was found in the stomach.Microscopically,the tumor was composed of uniformed cells.The nuclei were oval,round with atypia,and rare mitotic figures could be found.Immunohistochemically,the cells were positive for ER,PR,CK7,E-cad and GCDFP-15 and negative for CK20 and villin.Conclusions Breast cancer metastasis to the stomach is rarely found.Careful analysis of the clinicopathological features and immunohistochemisitry will be helpful to accurate diagnosis.
