Abstract:Objective To study the clinical significance of survivin and VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 protein expression level in the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer. Methods The expression of survivin,VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 was detected in 141 cases of esophageal cancer with imunohistochemistry, and the relationship to clinical pathological features of esophageal cancer was analyzed. Results In 141 patients with esophageal cancer, the expression of survivin protein was positive in 105 cases. The expression of survivin had correlated with pathological T stages, lymph node metastasis, nerve invasion, and histopathological grade (P < 0.05),while no correlation with patients gender and age (P > 0.05).VEGF-C was positive in 110 cases;VEGFR-3 was positive in 95 cases; The expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 had correlation with pathological T stages, lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05),while no correlation with patients gender, age, nerve invasion, and histopathological grade (P > 0.05).The expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR 3 had positively correlated (P < 0.05).The relationship between the three markers had positively correlated (P < 0.05).Conclusions The expression of survivin is related to the invasion and distant metastasis of esophageal carcinoma. In patients with more advanced tumor stage and higher malignancy, survivin positive rate is higher.VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 have correlation with lymph node metastasis.High expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 suggests that patients would have lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis.Combined detection survivin,VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 helps make the diagnosis of early invasion and lymph node metastasis in esophageal carcinoma, and evaluate the prognosis of patients.
