Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical and pathological features of cervical adenocarcinoma and its clinicopathological relationship. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted in 89 cases of cervical adenocarcinoma through immunohistochemical study and survival analysis to identify their clinicopathologic relationship. Results The average age of the 89 patients was 51.5 years (range 31-74) with median age as 51 years. The range of tumor diameter was 0.2-9 cm.The clinical manifestation included vaginal bleeding after contact (62 cases),vaginal discharge (48 cases),and no significant sign and discovered by routine medical examinations (8 cases). The pathological types consisted of common type adenocarcinoma (69 cases),endometrioid adenocarcinoma (5 cases),tubulovillous adenoma cancer,intestinal-type mucinous adenocarcinoma, and clear cell adenocarcinoma (each 4 cases),serous carcinoma (2 cases) and adenocarcinoma with neuroendocrine tumor (1 case). The 74 cases were followed up for 7 months to 123 months, and the results showed that the lower the differentiation of common type adenocarcinoma, the lower survival rate of the patients (P < 0.01),and with increased tumor staging, shorter survival in patients was observed (P < 0.01).Conclusion Cervical adenocarcinoma occurs in middle-aged women, always lack of specific clinical symptoms, and it is confirmed mainly by histology and immunohistochemical examination. The lower the differentiation of common type adenocarcinoma, and the higher the tumor staging, and the worse the prognosis is manifested.
