Abstract:Objective To describe the clinical pathological features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of uterine tumors resembling ovarian sex cord tumors (UTROSCT).Methods The clinical and pathological data were retrospectively analyzed in 2 cases of UTROSCT in our hospital. Results Under the microscope, the tumor was composed of epithelioid cells in trabecular, cord, nests or tubular arrangement, with the distribution of the clusters of foam sample cells;Tumor cell cytoplasm was eosinophilic or foamy, with round or ovoid nucleus, uniform size, lack of nucleoli and rare mitosis;stromal hyalinization was noted.Immunohistochemical staining showed that the tumor cells expressed AE1/AE3,vimentin,desmin,calretinin,WT-1,CD99,inhibin,ER,PR and CD10,but not EMA,Pax-8,CK7,Melan A and caldesmon. Conclusion UTROSCT is a rare tumor with morphological characteristics of ovarian sex cord tumor and a low malignant potential;most of the tumors are benign, but a few can recur with metastasis.Clinical and radiographic changes cannot make the diagnosis and the final diagnosis depends on the histological features and immunohistochemical findings.
