Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of nm23 in ditferent molecular subtypes of breast carcinoma and its correlation to metastasis in axillary lymph nodes. Methods The expression of ER,PR,HER2 and nm23 was detected immunohistochemically in 275 tissue specimens of invasive breast carcinoma. Results Based on immunohistochemical staining, the rates of nm23 expression were 84.3% in ER/PR(+)group,67.6% in HER2(+)group,and 54.5% in triple negative breast cancer group (P < 0.05).We also demonstrated that the expression of nm23 in the group without metastasis of axillary lymph nodes was higher than that in the group with metastasis of axillary lymph nodes (P < 0.05).Conclusion To study the expression of nm23 in different molecular subtypes of breast carcinoma may provide an evaluation index of the development and progression of breast cancer, and it also contributes to the clinical treatment and prognostic evaluation of breast cancer.
