Abstract:Objective Mesonephric carcinoma is a rare tumor of the female genital tract, usually found in the cervix, and exceptionally rare in the uterine corpus;it may cause confusion with other uterine tumors because of varied morphology. We report a case of mesonephric adenocarcinama of the uterine corpus to analyze the clinicopathological characteristics with review of the literatures. Methods The clinical and pathological characteristics was collected and analyzed in 1 case of mesonephric adenocarcinoma of the uterine corpus. Results A 62-year-old woman with postmenopausal bleeding underwent endometrial curettage biopsy and the diagnosis was endometrioid carcinoma;the patient was then subjected to a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection and appendectomy. The mass was located on the lateral wall of the utrine body, infiltrated the whole layer.Microscopically, the most primary histologic patterns of the mesonephric adenocarcinoma were tubular glands that varied in size and were lined by one to several layers of columnar cells.Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for CD10,vimentin and EMA;but expression of ER,PR and AR were completely negative. Conclusions Mesonephric carcinoma of the uterine corpus is rare and awareness of its variety morphology can prevent from making a false diagnosis.
