Application technology of gas dryers in medical air separation units

Abstract：Medical air separation unit is specifically designed and manufactured for the medical field to produce oxygen that meets stringent medical-grade standards,as well as other gases such as nitrogen,as needed.Gas dryers can remove impurities such as moisture,carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons from compressed air,playing a significant role in the long-term and stable operation of medical air separation unit.This article introduces the main structures and working principles of medical cryogenic air separation units,pressure swing adsorption air separation units,and membrane separation air separation units.This article analyzes the factors affecting the performance of three types of gas dryers:refrigeration,adsorption,and membrane dryers.Employing a combined configuration using two or three of these dryer types,with the membrane dryer positioned at the final stage of the process,can achieve better drying and filtration efficiency for compressed gas.
