Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of evidence-based nursing in elderly patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)receiving high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy(HFNC).Methods:A total of 94 elderly patients with AECOPD receiving HFNC admitted to our hospital from August 2023 to August 2024 were divided into study group(n=47,receiving evidence-based nursing)and control group(n=47,receiving routine nursing)by odd-even number method. The differences in blood gas indicators and symptom scores between the two groups were compared before and after nursing, and the good rate of medical compliance behavior and incidence of adverse events in the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results:After nursing, the excellent rate of medical compliance behavior in the study group was 97.87%,which was higher than that in the control group(82.98%)(P<0.05).The levels of partial pressure of arterial oxygen(PaO2)and oxygen saturation(SaO2)in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the level of partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide(PaCO2)was lower than that in the control group(all P<0.05).The scores of dyspnea, chest tightness, cough, sputum production, and wheezing in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse events in the study group was 4.26%,which was lower than that in the control group(21.28%)(P<0.05).Conclusion:For elderly patients with AECOPD receiving HFNC,evidence-based nursing interventions can effectively improve their medical compliance behavior, accelerate the recovery of patients'blood gas indicators and the relief of various clinical symptoms, and reduce the occurrence of adverse events, achieving ideal application effects and higher promotion value.
