Abstract:Objective:To explore the application value of focused solution mode and catheter management in high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy(HFNC)for elderly patients with type Ⅰ respiratory failure. Methods:A total of 98 elderly patients with type Ⅰ respiratory failure who underwent HFNC in our hospital were selected as the study subjects. The admission time was from August 2023 to August 2024,and the patients were divided into groups using digital drawing method, with 49 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the study group received focused solution mode and catheter management combined intervention.Differences in compliance, oxygen therapy status, blood gas indicators, and adverse events between groups were compared. Results:After the intervention, the oxygen absorption compliance of the study group(97.96%)was higher than that of the control group(81.63%)(P<0.05).The oxygen absorption time, comfort score and hospital stay of the study group were better than those of the control group all(P<0.05).The partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide(PaCO2)in the study group was lower than that in the control group, but the partial pressure of arterial oxygen(PaO2)and the oxygen saturation(SaO2)in the study group were higher than those in the control group all(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse events in the study group(4.08%)was lower than that in the control group(20.41%)(P<0.05).Conclusion:For elderly patients with type Ⅰ respiratory failure undergoing HFNC,intervention with a focused solution mode combined with catheter management can improve their oxygen absorption compliance, enhance oxygen therapy efficacy, reduce adverse events, and promote the prognosis of patients, with high application value.
