Observation of the effect of hyperbaric oxygen on activities of daily living in patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen chamber occupational therapy on activities of daily living in patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction.Methods:According to random number table method,60 patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction admitted to our hospital from May 2020 to April 2024 were randomly divided into control group(receiving occupational training treatment)and study group(receiving hyperbaric oxygen chamber occupational training treatment),with 30 patients in each group.Cognitive function,activities of daily living,clinical efficacy,and degree of neurological dysfunction were observed in the two groups.Results:After treatment,the NIHSS scores of both groups were higher than before treatment,and the study group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,activities of daily living of both groups were higher than before treatment,and the study group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the MaCA scores of both groups were higher than before treatment,and the study group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Hyperbaric oxygen chamber occupational therapy can effectively improve activities of daily living and enhance cognitive and neurological functions of patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction.
