Study on the current status and influencing factors of bone health literacy in middle-aged and elderly women with breast cancer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of bone health literacy in middle-aged and elderly women with breast cancer.Methods A total of 299 middle-aged and elderly women with breast cancer were selected as the research subjects from two grade-A tertiary hospitals in Xi'an from November 2024 to March 2025 by convenience sampling method.General data questionnaire,bone health literacy questionnaire for middle-aged and elderly women,perceived social support scale and risk perception questionnaire for patients with chronic diseases were used to investigate them.Results The total score of bone health literacy questionnaire for middle-aged and elderly women was(42.42±7.05)points,and the compliance rate was 9.7%,among which the health promotion dimension had the lowest compliance rate(1.3%).Culture,income,perceived social support and risk perception of patients with chronic diseases were the main influencing factors of bone health literacy(P<0.01).Conclusion The compliance rate of bone health literacy in middle-aged and elderly women with breast cancer is at a relatively low level.Medical staff should identify its risk factors as early as possible and formulate personalized intervention programs for patients with different characteristics to improve the bone health literacy level of patients and improve their quality of life and health outcomes.
