Current status and research progress of severe pediatric traumatic brain injury in China

Abstract:This review provides a comprehensive overview of the current status and research progress regarding severe traumatic brain injury(TBI)in children in China.It covers multiple aspects including epidemiology,pathological mechanisms,diagnostic techniques,treatment strategies,current clinical practices,and future perspectives.The epidemiology elaborates on incidence,mortality,regional epidemiological characteristics,and influencing factors.The pathological mechanisms explore physiological and anatomical characteristics,pathophysiological changes,and secondary injury mechanisms.The diagnostic techniques introduce imaging methods,biomarkers,and neurological function assessments.The treatment strategies include emergency care,surgical interventions,and rehabilitation therapy.The current clinical practices address multidisciplinary collaboration,expert consensus,and clinical pathway guidelines.The future perspectives focus on prevention strategies,the application of emerging technologies,as well as challenges and opportunities in research.Through a comprehensive analysis of relevant literature,this review aims to offer a thorough reference for both research and clinical practice related to severe pediatric TBI in China.
