Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of early enteral nutrition(EEN)on inflammatory response and gut microbiota in patients with acute pancreatitis(AP).Methods A total of 180 patients with AP from January 2023 to September 2024 were selected and divided into observation group A and observation group B according to random table method, with 90 cases in each group. In addition to conventional treatment, observation group A was given enteral nutrition therapy within 48 h,and observation group B was given enteral nutrition therapy within 24 h.The changes in serum inflammatory factors IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-α levels,as well as the changes in gut microbiota including Escherichia coli,Enterococcus,Clostridium perfringens,Lactobacillus, and Bacteroidetes were compared before and after treatment. Results Compared with initiating enteral nutrition within 48 h,initiating enteral nutrition within 24 h could significantly reduce the serum levels of IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-α in patients with AP(P<0.01).It also effectively decreased the abundance of Escherichia coli,Enterococcus, and Clostridium perfringens, while increasing the abundance of Lactobacillus and Bacteroides(P<0.01).The results indicated that earlier initiation of enteral nutrition yielded superior anti-inflammatory effects and better regulation of gut microbiota. Conclusion EEN can effectively treat AP,reduce serum inflammatory factors such as IL-1β,IL-6,TNF-α,and poor gut microbiota in patients, and increase probiotics in gut microbiota. The earlier the time, the better the effect.
