Abstract:In recent years, the prevalence of myopia has been increasing globally, and myopia has become a global public health problem that cannot be ignored.Studies have shown that the age of onset of myopia is negatively correlated with the likelihood of developing high myopia in the future.Nowadays, people frequently use electronic devices due to the fast pace of life and the pressure of study and work. Therefore, the prevention and control of myopia requires the concerted efforts of many parties to effectively reduce the incidence of myopia. In order to explore optical means of delaying myopia progression and to provide a research basis for mechanistic studies of myopia prevention and control, this paper provides a review of the mechanisms of the onset based on the defocus theory and its application in the prevention and control of myopia development.
