Research progress of eye diseases caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2

Abstract：Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)causes coronavirus disease 2019.Because of its high infectivity,the epidemic spreads rapidly around the world.It can attack different organs in the body,causing mild,moderate,and even severe and fatal symptoms.A growing number of studies have shown that SARS-CoV-2 can also attack the eye,causing diseases of various tissues of the eye,including the conjunctiva,cornea,retina and optic nerve.Based on the research progress and experimental results at home and abroad,this paper reviews the possible transmission routes,clinical manifestations,diagnosis and treatment of eye-related diseases caused by SARS-CoV-2,providing help for clinicians to treat SARS-CoV-2-related eye diseases in clinical work.
