Abstract:Globally, degenerative injuries of the locomotor system impose a substantial healthcare burden. The construction of functional bioengineered grafts-such as bone and cartilage-represents a pivotal challenge in tissue repair and reconstruction.Organoid technology,by simulating the process of organogenesis and development, offers a novel strategy for constructing ideal bioengineered grafts.Current advances demonstrate that successful construction of bone and cartilage organoids has laid a solid theoretical and technical foundation for organoid-based locomotor system repair and reconstruction. This paper systematically reviews recent progress in organoid technology for repairing and reconstructing locomotor system tissues(bone, cartilage, and muscle),focuses on clinical application scenarios, and looks forward to future development directions and key scientific issues. It aims to fill the gap in systematic reviews while providing guidance for subsequent research.
