Effect of anxiety and depression on quality of life in patients with acute leukemia:the mediating role of family resilience and the moderating role of education level

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects and mechanism of anxiety and depression on quality of life in patients with acute leukemia(AL),and explore the mediating role of family resilience and the moderating role of education level.Methods A total of 286 patients with AL were tested by Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Leukemia,Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale,and Family Hardiness Index.Results Quality of life was significantly positively correlated with family resilience(r=0.482,P<0.01),and significantly negatively correlated with anxiety and depression(r=-0.706,P<0.01).Family resilience played a partial mediating role in the relationship between anxiety and depression and quality of life in patients with AL.Education level played a moderating role in the influence path of anxiety and depression on quality of life.Conclusion The study helps to understand the mechanism of anxiety and depression on quality of life in patients with AL,and has practical implications for intervening and improving the quality of life of patients.
